It Can Ensure Increased Program Support

Programs that can demonstrate their success through evaluation are much more likely to get financial support, as well as legislative, community, and technical support.

Without objective evaluation, program managers and staff cannot show that their work is worthwhile, and other public health programs cannot learn from the program’s success. In addition, without adequate evaluation, programs cannot show funding agencies that their work is successful, or publish the results of their work in professional or public health journals for others to share.

Obviously, programs that can show their success with facts and figures are more likely to receive continued funding and to publish the results of their work than are programs that cannot provide this evidence.
