Organizational Summary
What is the mission of your organization with respect
to tobacco cessation?
TTAC's mission is to build capacity to achieve effective
tobacco prevention and control programs and policies. TTAC
provides training and technical assistance to increase knowledge
and skills, foster strong leadership, increase organizational
support and strengthen partnerships. TTAC strives to create
and foster an environment, internally and externally, that
reflects creativity, inclusivity, innovation, continuous learning
and the celebration of achievements. Our work is carried out
openly, with a sense of urgency, in the spirit of respect,
collaboration and trust; with enthusiasm and commitment to
public health principles and the highest ethical standards.
What types of services do you offer presently?
TTAC offers web-based materials and links to other cessation
sites (www.ttac.org). We also offer access to cessation consultant
and experts. In addition, the Communities of Excellence
Plus (CXP) manual and the CXP Academy include printed
and electronic resources and lectures on cessation. The cessation
chapter of Communities of Excellence Plus
offers specific strategies and implementation suggestions
for communities. The Communities of Excellence Plus
manual will be available for order Spring 2005.
What are any current initiatives underway in your
organization regarding tobacco cessation? What projects are
you undertaking this year? What are you funding?
TTAC is a core member of the Pilot State Cessation Project.
We have also provided technical assistance for various cessation-related
projects. Finally, cessation is a core topic included in TTAC’s
Communities of Excellence Academy.
What projects/initiatives are you considering for
next year? What would you like to become more involved in?
TTAC partners and collaborates with others working to build
capacity in tobacco control, and will continue to seek out
opportunities to decrease tobacco use.
